A book of poems written with the Ledbury Poetry Festival and 25 people from Sheppard House who took part voluntarily. They together produced a series of works all of which are unique to people who have lived their lives in the Forest of Dean.
The poetry book Lost … And Found was officially launched at the Annual Tea Party at the end of June 2014 and then at the Ledbury Poetry Festival during July. A number of the poets attended the event, thoroughly enjoying the experience.
“I am writing on behalf of the Prime Minister to thank you for your recent letter and for the copy of the book Lost … And Found. I was interested to see how you and those from Sheppard House, who shared their stories, have been able to create such a poignant collection of poems. Dementia is one of the greatest challenges we face as a nation and I hope that your book enables you to promote greater awareness of the condition.”
We still have a few copies left so if you haven’t bought a copy yet they are on sale in the Charity Shop and through Sheppard House, also at Ledbury Books and Maps. Images courtesy of Gerard Hughes.
Copies of book were sent to some key people and we received a letter of thanks from the Prime Minister’s office.
